Before there is a harvest there must be a seed to plant. We all pray and hope that our seeds grow firm like an Oak Tree. But to see the Oak tree the seed must be planted (written down), then watered (prayed over), given light (Spoken Life into) and space (room) to grow.
- Plant the seed = Write it down. (Habakkuk 2:2 – Then the LORD replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.)
- Are you writing your dreams down so that you can revisit them?
- Are you making it plain what the Lord has said to you?
- Writing it down shows that you are intentional about speaking and sharing what the Lord has given you.
- Writing down the dreams begins the journey of bringing to life what the Lord has spoken to you.
2) Water the seed = Pray over it
(1 Thessalonians 5:16 – Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.)
- Praying over your seed consistently will help keep your foundation solid.
- Even when don’t see growth pray in faith that it is happening.
- Pray with thankfulness that you had a seed to plant breathes gratitude and keeps you humble.
- The fear of the unknown and the unseen cripples you from moving in faith.
- Praying and not doubting that a harvest is coming allows you to have peace in the unknown.
3) Give Light to the seed = Speak life into it (Proverbs 18:20-21 – From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled; with the harvest of their lips, they are satisfied. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat is fruit.)
- You are either speaking life or speaking death. There is no speaking both at the same time.
- Speaking death is speaking darkness. Regardless of how well you plant the seed and how much watering you do it is hard for the seed to grow in darkness.
- Speaking life is giving light to the seed that was planted. Even if you don’t see it the light you shine on it will help it grow.
- Speak it into existence.
4) Plant in Space = Plant in Good Soil (Matthew 7:6 – “Do not give dogs what is sacred, do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”)
- Where you plant matters. Are you planting in a space or environment that your seed can grow?
- There is wisdom in knowing who and where you share your dreams. People who are not rooted in the faith could speak against, pray against your dreams.
- Unhealthy environments can pollute our thoughts with negativity, fear, anger, and doubt.
- Just like plants need a healthy soil, our dreams need to be planted in a healthy environment. Planted in a place of peace, faith, love, and Joy. Not in an environment filled with jealousy, hate, doubt and disbelief.
Dream it, Plant it, Water it, give it Light, and give it Space.
