Success within the Journey

The world defines success by a person or thing that achieves desired aims or attains prosperity. The world defines failure by lack of success.

When do you consider yourself obtaining success? Is it when you achieve fame or money? So many times, we define how successful we are by whether we achieve our goals. Those goals could include having several degrees, millions of dollars, or just worldwide fame. For a long time, we have allowed ourselves to believe that success only comes when we achieve our goals and obtain prosperity.  Then, if we do not achieve it all, we have experienced lack of success which is failure. We believe that we are not successful until we finally reach at least one of our goals or all of them.

Winning or obtaining success does not start when you get the trophy, the acknowledgment, or reward. It does not start because you found yourself on top of the world or when people are paying you for your service(s). It starts when you decide to no longer give into the fear of failing. It starts when you decide to not give up, despite the challenges you encounter. Every second that you choose not to give in and keep moving forward, is the second that you obtain success or start winning. Do not focus on what you do not have but focus on what you have gained during the process. Every step that you have taken to reach your goal, is a step that would have never been taken if you decided not to move forward.  This means you could have chosen to not move at all and decided to not take the risk of “Failing”, however, you chose to go for it. What we do not realize, is that when you choose to go for it, you choose to overcome the fear of failing. There are many people in this world that aim to make their dreams a reality. For many people, just getting started is a huge achievement. As previously stated, the definition of success is when a person ACHIEVES a desired aim. Despite how small of an achievement getting started may seem to the world, it is still an achievement. So again, do not look down on small beginnings. Rejoice while you are on your journey because each day you move forward you are obtaining success.
