Hebrews 12:1-2 (New International Version)
“And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us..”
We all have a race that has been marked out for us. The race set before you is necessary for growth and maturity. Along the journey there will be fatigue. As I matured I noticed that my fatigue wasn’t just from the journey itself. I realized that it can be more exhausting to run from the journey than it is to embrace the journey. Exhaustion also comes from fighting battles that are not yours. And sometimes the reason you feel your walk with the Lord is struggling is not because the journey is hard but because you are trying to walk in someone else’s shoes. Keeping your eyes fixed on Jesus helps you to not get distracted. One of the biggest distractions is making comparisons. When you compare your journey to others you’ll find yourself stuck in the same place. You will find yourself never learning, never growing and never maturing. Focus on your own journey and run the race that the Lord has marked out for you.
